RENZ: Calendar and brochure production at Digimedia in Duesseldorf

At Digimedia RENZ exhibit machines that are especially designed according to requirements of digital printers. In the main focus are solutions with optimized setup times for all print run sizes. Main point is traditionally calendar production.

The desktop punching machine Punch 500 with its QSA punching technology and the electric closing machine for RENZ RING WIRE® comb binding ECL 500 are a class of its own.
The format change is feasible within less than ten minutes and the handling is learnable for less-trained staff in a few minutes.
For paper processing with a higher automation level the Mobi 500 is very suitable. It is the only semi-automatic binding machine worldwide for calendars and brochures of up to 500 millimetres binding width with a setup time of less than four minutes!
With this machine RENZ realized everything that is beneficial for the user, from fully automatic format changes to the mobile application of the system in the production environment.
RENZ also show an innovation with the modular extendable punching system AP 360-120 DIGI BL-BL. This was presented at last IPEX for the first time as prototype. Now RENZ will launch volume production of the machine that is addressed to paper processors that want to carry out several working steps with one machine.
A typical task of the machines is punching of calendars with integrated nail hole at the opposite edge of the wire comb binding. In the past the nail hole had to be drilled before or after the punching process on a separate machine.
The product handling for following process steps is significantly simplified and productivity has increased considerably, too.
The tapping of e.g. calendars off a pile, that was quite time-consuming until now, has been simplified by a lateral product offset of the calendars or brochures delivered in a high pile.
Further additional extras are a corner rounding or a corner tear-off perforation module at the second punching unit or a transfer station on an automatic wire comb binding system of RENZ.
Format adjustments take place fully-automatically and in less that five minutes. Furthermore, up to 50 different formats can be pre-saved and activated again.
